He has been appointed to the role after the company undertook an extensive international search.
SkyCity Entertainment has announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), with Jason Walbridge assuming the role.
The operator has been on the hunt for a new CEO since
Michael Ahearne
announced back in October that he would step down from his position in March of this year.
Walbridge brings with him over two decades of senior executive public company experience.
Currently, he is a Strategic Advisor to
Aristocrat on its proposed acquisition of NeoGames
and Executive Chairman of National Entertainment Network.
Walbridge has also held roles at NYX Gaming Group, Light & Wonder, Aristocrat and even within consulting including at Ernst & Young.
The incoming CEO is expected to take up this role in early July 2024, with Callum Mallet continuing as Interim CEO for the time being.
SkyCity Board Chair Julian Cook said: “The Board is delighted to announce Jason’s appointment as CEO of SkyCity, and we are looking forward to the valuable contribution Jason will make to the business.
“Jason has extensive global experience in the land-based and online gaming industries, which will position him well to lead SkyCity through its next phases.”
Walbridge himself added: “It will be a privilege to lead SkyCity, and I am excited to be joining the business at this time as SkyCity looks to pursue the many opportunities ahead of it.”
This marks a recent shuffle in senior roles at SkyCity, with
Andrew McPherson
being appointed the new Chief Information Officer in March and
David Christian
resigning as COO Australia last week.
